eTail West 2017 Preview: Win at Data-Driven Marketing

etail-west-2017-conference-preview

Sunshine, palm trees, warm temps, and…no winter coats. Finally!

Coming from the chilly east coast in the middle of winter, it’s pretty easy to get me jazzed about the trip out to Palm Springs to attend eTail West, being held Feb. 27 - March 1.

I’m looking forward to getting a healthy dose of Vitamin D to last me through to spring, but I’m most excited to take part in discussions on e-commerce and data-driven retail marketing at the event.

eTail West is just a few weeks out, and we’re gearing up to talk about all things Google and Facebook, as well as hear insights from the 1,200 retailers in attendance. If you’ll be there, we’d love for you to stop by, say hello, and bring your questions. Here’s how you can stay in the loop with us during the event:

Sidecar Launches Revenue Probability Scoring for Google Shopping

blog-header-2016-rps-launch

Every retailer has a set of products that are all-stars. I’m talking about the Michael Jordans, the Steph Currys, the Tom Bradys of your catalog — those products that receive plenty of traffic, clicks, and orders. Determining how much to spend to expose these products on an acquisition channel like Google Shopping is pretty straightforward.

But what about products that don’t enjoy heavy traffic and that lack substantial performance data to inform bid decisions — a.k.a., the bulk of most retail catalogs?

How can retailers identify and invest in those products? On the flip side, how can retailers know when one of their top performers has peaked, and avoid over-investing in it?

Sidecar has been working tirelessly to answer these questions, and I’m happy to reveal the result of our efforts: Revenue Probability Scoring.

Hello, Efficient Google Shopping Campaigns! Thanks to New Search Query Management Technology

blog-header-SQM-01

We’ve been thinking a lot about how we can innovate our technology to build on the cost/sale and ROAS improvements (efficiency) it already drives for retailers’ Google Shopping campaigns. And our thoughts have centered on leveraging a particular aspect of AdWords: search queries.

Yep, that big data set that most e-commerce marketers ignore when they manage Google Shopping.

The outcome of all this thinking? We added a brand-new capability to Sidecar’s technology: Search Query Management, which measurably improves the efficiency of Google Shopping campaigns.

eTail West Attendees: Quit California Dreamin’ and Conquer Google Shopping

blog-header-PalmSprings
eTail West is one of my favorite e-commerce events of the year. I’ll admit -- it’s partly because it’s in Palm Springs, home to 80-degree weather and beautiful golf courses. (You better believe I’ll be trying to find time for a round.) But local perks aside, I always find eTail West to be a great learning and networking event. eTail West’s website does a good job summing it up: “Learning. Fun. Sun. Sangria?” Yep, I’m in. A few folks from Sidecar will be jetting with me across the country, too. We’ve got plenty of fun plans for the event, so if you’ll be there, we’d love to say hello. Here’s what we’ve got in the works for attendees.

This Sidecar Is Alive and Well. No Condolences Needed.

blog-header-open_r1
This week, a ride-sharing service bearing the name Sidecar announced it is closing up shop. As you might have noticed, our thriving e-commerce marketing technology company bares the same moniker. Now, sharing the name Sidecar has historically not been a huge deal ... we’re used to people confusing us with the other Sidecar; in fact we kind of embrace it. We even have a Slack channel called #thewrongsidecar where our employees post mistaken Sidecar identity emails they receive.
